Tillie Harpelle has been yodelling ever since she was about 10 years old,
and she has clogged for the last 20 years. She made her first CD in 2000
to celebrate her 70th birthday, and made two more CDs after that. Tillie
has had great success selling her music and her talent has taken her all
over Manitoba and Ontario. With her today are two good friends, Don McQuarrie
and Harold Downey of Carberry. Harold and Don enjoy entertaining at Lodges,
Personal CAre Homes and Dances.

A local family old-tyme band that has been together for over 40 years.
The father Don Strelczik is the leader of the band; there are five people
in total featuring banjo, guitar, drums and violin.

I am 17 years old and am currently attending Oak Park High School in Winnipeg,
Manitoba. I have have been playing guitar since I was 6 and started writing
my own music when I was 14. I mainly play folk/folk rock music and have
recorded my own demo cd, consisting of 5 of my own songs which can be
heard at www.myspace.com/jeffthomas.
I perform various shows throughout Winnipeg playing either with my band
or solo. My main influences are Neil Young, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, which
have all inspired me to write and play my own songs.

A tribute to (BEATLES - ROLLING STONES - 50'S & 60'S)
Formed in 1980, Free Ride's popularity is at an all time high. They have
toured internationally bringing excitement to a variety of venues including;
Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Japan and the grand opening of the largest Playboy
Club Casino, coupled with a private show for the founder Hugh Hefner.
The demand and magic they have created at corporate functions, fairs,
arena, concerts and night clubs in an ongoing indicator of their popularity.
They captivated the collective imagination of today's audiences with their
tribute to the Beatles, their flawless salute to the Rolling Stones and
their enjoyable journey through the 50's & 60's Rock n Roll era. Free
Ride is the essence of showmanship! If you haven't experienced the magic,
make a point of taking in their show, wherever that may be.

Music style: Old time fiddling, singing of country classics
Bart & Linda Prior of Neepawa, Mb. Bart began playing fiddle at age
8, taught to him by his father. He also plays the guitar, banjo and mandolin.
Linda began piano lessons at the age of 10. She also plays the accordion,
organ, and sings harmony. Bart & Linda have been entertaining audiences
for the past 40 years. Karen Neufeld (nee Prior,daughter of Bart &
Linda) of Stonewall, Mb. Karen has been singing since she was old enough
to speak. Her stage career started at age 5. At the age of 15 she began
to learn the guitar from her father. She is currently taking violin lessons.
Karen has been entertaining audiences for the past 35 years. Wayne Stewart
of Warren, Mb. Wayne started with the accordion at age 15. Since then
has learned to play the guitar, violin, bass, mandolin, and banjo. Wayne
has been entertaining audiences for the past 30 years. Combined, Highway
16 has 105 years of experience.

Sound Motif unites six of Westman’s most versatile and experienced
vocalists in song. Together they create a concert performance to remember.
Sound Motif has received acclaim for their musicality, humour, blend and
selection of great music – favourites of audiences everywhere. From
musical theatre to songs of the 60’s to Canadian classics, Sound
Motif brings to life some of the greatest songs ever written.

4:30 – 5:30 Slim Chance (Blue Grass)
Slim Chance is a traditional bluegrass band from Manitoba’s Interlake
area. Formed in August of 2006, Slim Chance has entertained at a variety
of events and venues. Members consist of Joe Coumont (banjo), Harry McKay
(guitar), John Sawatzky (mandolin), and Harvey Basler (bass). We strive
to bring traditional bluegrass music to our listeners.
5:45 - Makeover Challenge Revealed
6:00 - 7:00 Larry Novak & Friends
CURLY: Began singing on stage at l5 years of age – performing solo
mostly, for 10 years. In 1984, Curly met Moe at the Budweiser Talent Contest
at the North 40 Saloon in Brandon and have played music together since
that time. Their voices blending together very nicely. Moe convinced Curly
to switch to playing the bass guitar and has played the bass ever since.
MOE:
Started playing music in a band setting at age 15. Moe played with several
different groups in Winnipeg until he moved to Brandon in 1980. He has
played for weddings, socials and in Bars since then. Moe’s musical
forte is specializing in singing and playing old (traditional) Country
Music and Old Time Rock and Roll. Moe has played music for close to 40
years and IS STILL MARRIED.
LARRY:
Just like his two buddies, Curly and Moe, Larry started to learn how to
play the guitar at a very early age…about l4 years of age. He was
shown the very basic chords and then learned more by watching other guitar
players and playing music with other musicians. By the time Larry was
16, he began to play with some of the local dance bands. The first band
he played with was Eddie Kuharski’s Orchestra. Then played with
Matt Seimas and the Westernaires. Did a couple of jobs with the Mel Batters
band. When he was transferred by Canada Safeway to Dryden, Ontario, he
hooked up with the Roy Lockhart Dance Band and played with him for a couple
of years. After coming back to Neepawa in 1966, Larry joined up with the
Eddie Kuharski Band “The Melody Pals” and played full time
with this group until 1980. After this period of time Larry has played
with 2 or 3 other groups until he me up with Curly and Moe and that is
why he is here today with the group called “Larry, Curly and Moe”.

“On The Edge” is a vocal/instrumental quartet which has enjoyed
performing a unique blend of Celtic, folk, and bluegrass music, for the
past thirteen years. Variety is their trademark, as they mix vocals with
instruments ranging from guitars and recorders and flutes to piano and
a near antique accordion affectionately dubbed “the beast”.
The members are Bill and Mariette Howatt, who farm near Manitou, and Al
and Loretta Thorleifson, who teach in Manitou and Winkler, respectively.
They have appeared on stage at numerous summer festivals and fairs in
the province, as well as traveling to Grand Forks for occasional engagements.
They are frequently invited to entertain at banquets and community functions,
and are also part of the Manitou Coffeehouse Musicians, who are proud
to present coffeehouses twice a month throughout the winter. They enjoy
performing and have been featured over the past few years at the Winkler
Harvest Festival, the Gathering of Nations, the Cripple Creek Bluegrass
Festival, and at many other events.
